The Single Sign-On (SSO) feature enables new and existing members to register and log in to the Customer Portal and Como mobile app using third-party social providers: Google, Apple, and Facebook. SSO eliminates login friction by offering one-tap access for returning members, auto-filling profile details for new registrations, and providing self-service account management tools.

1. Overview & Authentication Flows
SSO supports streamlined authentication across desktop browsers, mobile web browsers, and embedded mobile app web-views/native sheets.
1.1 Returning Member Experience
When a returning member signs in using a linked social provider:
- One-Tap Access: The system recognizes their connected social ID and immediately logs them into their account, bypassing standard password entries or OTP phone verification steps.
-
Authentication Prompts:
- Selecting Google or Facebook opens the provider’s standard web authentication window and returns to the portal or app upon authorization.
- Selecting Apple triggers the native Apple ID authentication sheet.
1.2 New Member Experience
When a new member registers using a social provider:
- Phone Verification (OTP): To establish a primary identifier, new members confirm their phone number via a one-time passcode (OTP).
- Pre-Filled Registration Form: Upon consent, profile details supplied by the social provider (First Name, Last Name, and Birthday) automatically pre-fill into the registration form fields.
- Duplicate Merging Handling: If the email associated with the social provider already exists under a different phone number, the system follows the merchant's configured Merge Duplicates rule. If duplicate merging is disabled, a clear prompt informs the user that an account already exists with that email address.

2. Before You Begin & Pre-requisites
To successfully enable and display Social Login on customer-facing tools, the following prerequisite criteria must be met:
- Google Provider Required: Google must be selected as an active provider in the Hub configuration. If Google is unchecked, the entire social login UI remains hidden on web and mobile tools to prevent unresolvable identity collisions caused by missing social email scopes.
-
Phone Number Identifier & Login Validation: Phone Number must remain toggled ON, and Login Validation must be checked under its field settings in the Hub. Unchecking Phone Number automatically forces the system into Custom Login mode and disables Social Login options.
- To learn more about field configuration and validation modes, refer to Customize Your Registration Form and App/Customer Portal – Login Validation articles.
- V2 Registration Form: Merchants must opt into the V2 Registration Form within the Hub.
- Mobile App Build Version: Mobile apps must be updated to the required release version to support native social authentication dependencies.
3. Configuring Social Login in the Hub
Step 1: Navigate to Registration Settings
- Log into the Hub and go to Business Profile > Registration.
- Expand the Advanced Settings section.
- Locate the Member Identity & Validation card.
Step 2: Enable Social Providers
- Select the radio option for OTP & Social Login.
- Under Social Login & Registration, check the boxes for the providers you wish to enable:
- Google (Mandatory requirement)
- Apple
Step 3: Set Provider Display Sequence
The order in which providers are checked inside the Hub directly controls their top-to-bottom sequence on customer-facing login screens across the Customer Portal and Mobile App.
Example: Checking Google, then Apple, then Facebook displays Google at the top, Apple in the center, and Facebook at the bottom.
Step 4: Save Changes
Click Save at the bottom right of the page.
4. Member Profile Management & Self-Service Unlinking
Members retain full control over their connected social accounts directly from their Customer Portal or Mobile App profile:
- Navigate to member profile settings and open Social Accounts.
- A modal displays all supported social providers alongside their current status (Connected or Not connected).
- Members can click Unlink next to any active connected provider to remove third-party access at any time.
