Use Point Shop to set up free item rewards or custom discounts, manage redemption limits, handle platform migrations, and track your performance.
Table of Contents
1. Classic vs. Custom Points Shop Item
Classic Point Shop Item: Rewards members with a free item (e.g., free coffee for 100 points).
-
Custom Point Shop Item: Rewards members with a gift with any type of discount, such as $10 off specific items. You will use a Custom Point Shop item when you want:
A Point Shop Item that gives a discount that is not a free item (e.g., redeem 100 points and get $5 off on dessert).
A Point Shop Item that has a different name, description, or image than the gift.
2. Create a Classic Point Shop in Campaign Center
Step 1: Create the Gift
Before setting up a Classic Point Shop item, ensure you create the gift benefit first:
Go to Campaign Center in the Hub.
Navigate to Gifts from the side navigation menu.
Click + Gift to create a new gift.
-
Enter a name for your gift and add a description.
Important: You cannot have more than one gift with the same name.
Step 2: Set Up Classic Point Shop Item
Go to Campaign Center in the Hub.
Click Point Shop from the side navigation menu.
Click + Item to create a new point shop item and give it a name.
Enter a name for your point shop and add a description.
-
(Optional) Add Membership and Time conditions:
Membership condition: Limit the Point Shop Item to be available only for specific member tags (e.g., offer a special item only to VIP members or members who haven't visited recently).
Time condition: Limit the Point Shop Item to be available only for a specific period (e.g., a special item for Christmas).
-
Enter Point Shop Item Details according to the following pattern:
Purchase <item> for <price in points> points.Item: Define the item (or item group) that will be given for free when the member redeems points.
-
Price in Points: Set an appropriate price in points for the gift. This depends on how points are accumulated (conversion ratio) and what kind of discount you'd like to provide members for this item.
Example: Suppose that for every $1 spent, members accumulate 1 point. To give members a 10% reward on their purchases, 1 point should be equivalent to $0.10 in the Point Shop (so for every $1 spent, they earn $0.10). If an item's price in the business is $20, it would cost 200 points.
-
(Optional) Set purchase limits using the toggles:
Limit total purchases: Enable the toggle and enter a numeric value to set an overall stock cap. This automatically deactivates the item once it has been fully redeemed across the account/business, and purchase attempts past this threshold will be rejected.
Limit purchases per member: Enable the toggle and enter a numeric value to restrict how many times an individual member can redeem a specific item. This operates independently from the total purchases limit (you can set either restriction or combine both).
-
Choose Image: Add an attractive image for the gift in the Point Shop (or use the default image).
Note: The same image is used in the list and details screen.
Click Activate. The Points Shop Item will be available on your Point Shop immediately (no need to Publish app)!

5. Points Shop at POS
Encourage your members to redeem their points by purchasing Point Shop Items via the POS. Points Shop Items are available for the member based on their points balance, which will be displayed to the cashier once the member is identified at the POS. The cashier can then offer the member to purchase the item in exchange to redeem their points.
Set up: Set Point Shop at POS to be: available [Hub 1.0 -> Operation -> Settings -> POS Settings -> Point Shop].
5.1. Typical Flow
The business creates a Point Shop on Hub 2.0 Campaign Center.
The member identifies at the POS (usually by phone number).
Point Shop Items available for the member based on the member's points balance will be displayed in the POS Gift List.
The member tells the cashier which Point Shop Item they want to purchase.
The cashier selects the gift (i.e., Point Shop Item) from the member's gift list. The points are deducted from the member's points balance, and the discount is applied to the purchase.
5.2. Notes
The flow is supported for businesses with POS API v2.8 and v4.0 with Gift List.
Point Shop Items set up on Hub 1.0 (old platform) will not be displayed at the POS.
Due to technical integration restrictions, a member can purchase only one Point Shop Item of the same type within a single purchase. (Example: For Soft Drink (100 pts) and Dessert (200 pts), a member cannot purchase two Soft Drinks in the same transaction, but can purchase one Soft Drink and one Dessert).
In multiple-member purchases, a specific Point Shop Item cannot be purchased by 2 members in the same transaction. Two members can purchase two different Point Shop Items.
Example: Soft Drink for 100 points and Dessert for 200 points, Member 1 and Member 2 cannot purchase a soft drink via POS Point Shop (Member 1 can purchase one Soft Drink and Member 2 can purchase Dessert) in the same purchase.
