Discounts Priority – POS version 4.0 only
The Discount Priority capability allows you to prioritize discounts.
You can limit the number of discounts a member can get in a purchase: for example, redeem only one gift in a purchase or only a deal without a gift.
NOTE: the definition is per business and not per gift.
There are three options to set discount priority:
Option 1 - Allow only one gift per purchase
When a member attempts to redeem more than one gift in a purchase, then only one gift will apply: the one that gives the largest discount for the member.
💡 Example 1:
Member has Joining Gift (free coffee) and a Birthday Gift (30% off on the entire purchase):
👉 Ticket:
Coffee | 4$ |
Pastry | 2.5$ |
Redeem joining gift (free coffee) | -4$ |
Total | 2.5$ |
💡 Example 2:
Member has a Monthly Gift (15% off on dessert) and an Anniversary Gift (1+1 on the wine glasses):
👉 Ticket:
Dessert | 8$ |
Red wine | 9$ |
Red wine | 9$ |
Redeem anniversary gift (1+1 on the wine) | -9$ |
Total | 17$ |
Configuration
Only one gift per purchase: YES
Option 2 - Allow only gift without a deal
When a gift (or gifts) are applied to a purchase, the member is not eligible to receive Deals in addition.
💡Example 1:
Member has Joining Gift (free coffee) and the business runs a deal that gives members 10% on entire purchase:
👉 Ticket:
Coffee | 4$ |
Pastry | 2.5$ |
Redeem joining gift (free coffee) | -4$ |
Total | 2.5$ |
The member redeemed a gift in the purchase, therefore not eligible to get the deal.
NOTE: In case the member prefers to get a deal and not to redeem the benefit, then the cashier should not choose the gift from the Gift List.
Configuration
Calculate Deals with Gift: NEVER
Option 3 - Calculate deal after redeeming gift
When both gifts and Deals are applied, then Deals will be calculated after gifts, and on their net price.
💡 Example 1:
Member has Joining Gift (free coffee) and the business runs a deal that gives members 10% on the entire purchase:
👉 Ticket:
Coffee | 4$ |
Pastry | 2.5$ |
wine | 9$ |
Redeem joining gift (free coffee) | -4$ |
deal 10% | -1.15$ |
Total | 10.35$ |
The member redeemed a gift in this purchase, and therefore the 10% Deal will be calculated on the net price of the items after the gift was applied, means, 10% will be calculated on ($0.00 (coffee for free) + $2.50 (pastry) + $3.50)
💡 Example 2
Member has Monthly gift (50% off on the second coffee) and the business runs a deal that gives members 30% on the entire purchase:
👉 Ticket:
Coffee | 4$ |
Coffee | 4$ |
Pastry | 2.5$ |
Redeem monthly gift (50% off the coffee) | -2$ |
deal 30% | -2.55$ |
Total | 5.95$ |
