Add a Points Shop

Add a Point Shop to allow members to buy gifts using the points they accumulate.

Members can earn points for their purchases. They can use these points to buy gifts in the Point Shop and then redeem it at the business.

 

‘Classic’ vs. Custom Points Shop Item

Classic Point Shop Item rewards members with a free item (free coffee for 100 points).

Custom Point Shop Item rewards members with a gift with any type of discount — such as $10 off specific items. You will use Custom Point Shop when you want, for example:

  1. A Point Shop Item that gives discount which is not a free item. For example, redeem 100 points and get $5 off on dessert.
  2. A Point Shop Item that has a different name, description or image than the gift.

Create a ‘Classic’ Point Shop on Campaign Center

  1. From Campaign Center tab, click Point Shop and then +item

  1. Enter a name for your gift and add a description. Please note that the name and description you provide will be used as the name and description of the gift.

NOTE: You cannot have more than one gift with the same name.

  1. Enter Point Shop Item Details according to the following pattern: Purchase <item> for <price in points> points.

Item

Define the item (or item group) that will be given for free when the member redeems points.

Price in Points

Set an appropriate price in points for the gift. This depends on how points are accumulated (conversion ratio) and what kind of discount you'd like to provide members for this item.

 

Here's an example: Suppose that for every $1 they spend, they accumulate 1 point. To give members a 10% reward on their purchases, 1 point should be equivalent to $0.10 in the Point Shop (so for every $1 they spend, they earn $0.10). Then if an item's price in the business is $20, it would cost 200 points.

Choose Image

Add an attractive image for the gift in the Point Shop. The same image is used in the list and the details screen.

 

  1. (Optional) Add Membership and Time conditions

  • Membership condition - you can limit the Point Shop Item to be available only for specific members tag. For example, offer a special Point Shop Item only to your VIP members, or only to members who didn’t visit recently.
  • Time condition – you can limit the Point Shop Item to be available only for a specific period, for example, special Points Shop Item for Christmas.
  1. Click on “Activate”. The Points Shop Item will be available on your Point Shop immediately (no need to “Publish” app)!

Create a ‘Custom’ Point Shop on Campaign Center

  1. From Campaign Center tab, click Point Shop and then +item

  1. Click on “Switch to Custom Point Shop”

  1. Enter a name for your gift and add a description.

NOTE: You cannot have more than one gift with the same name.

  1. Set an appropriate price in points for the gift.

  1. Add an attractive image for the Point Shop Item (or use the default image). The gift can have a different image in this case.
  2. Optionally, add Membership and Time conditions.
  3. Select the gift (or create a new one by clicking “Add new” on the Benefit dropdown) corresponding to this Point Shop gift.
  4. Click on “Activate”. The Points Shop Item will be available on your Point Shop immediately (no need to “Publish” app)!

Points Shop Migration – From Hub 1.0 to Hub 2.0

If you already have an existing Point Shop on Hub 1.0 (old platform) and you are using Point Shop on your Mobile App, then adjust your Mobile App to work with Hub 2.0 Point Shop:

  1. Set-up your Point Shop on Campaign Center.
  2. Set “Point Shop Version” to be: v2 [Hub 1.0 -> App -> Branding (new) -> Design (new)].

Points Shop at POS

Encourage your members to redeem their points by purchasing Point Shop Items via the POS. Points Shop Items are available for the member based on their points balance, which will be displayed to the cashier once the member is identified at the POS. The cashier can then offer the member to purchase the item in exchange to redeem their points.

Set up: set “Point Shop at POS” to be: available [Hub 1.0 -> Operation -> Settings -> POS Settings -> Point Shop].

 

Typical Flow

  1. The business creates Point Shop on Hub 2.0 Campaign Center.
  2. The member identifies at the POS (usually by phone number).
  3. Point Shop Items are available for the member based on the member’s points balance will be displayed at the POS Gift List.
  4. The member tells the cashier which Point Shop Item they want to purchase.
  5. The cashier selects the gift (i.e., Point Shop Item) from the member's gift list. The points are deducted from the member’s points balance and the discount is applied to the purchase.

Notes

  1. The flow is supported for businesses with POS API v2.8 and v4.0 with Gift List.
  2. Point Shop Items that were set-up on Hub 1.0 (old platform) will not be displayed at the POS.
  3. Due to the integration of technical aspects, the flow is restricted in a way that a member can purchase only one Point Shop Item of the same type within a purchase. 💡 For example: Soft Drink for 100 points and Dessert for 200 points: a member cannot purchase two Point Shop Items of soft drink (can purchase one Soft Drink and one Dessert) in the same purchase via the POS.
  4. In multiple-member purchases, the flow is restricted in a way that a specific Point Shop Item cannot be purchased by 2 members in a purchase. Two members can purchase two different Point Shop Items. 💡 For example: Soft Drink for 100 points and Dessert for 200 points, member 1 and Member 2 cannot purchase a soft drink via POS Point Shop (Member 1 can purchase one Soft Drink and Member 2 can purchase Dessert) in the same purchase.

Point Shop Analysis

Analyze the performances of your Point Shop by checking how many times each Point Shop item was purchased, and from what source- App or POS.
